‘Hello’ from Eastern PA. For years heard the phrase “Antiquing” and dismissed it for my preferred style of minimalism.

However, I really value history and craftsmanship. “Vintage” came into play when I started collecting ink wells (For my active pastime of real tangible hand written correspondence). Turns out that Vintage places refer to themselves as Antique shops. So I guess I’m ‘antiquing’. Humorous.

Not a high-end purchaser/collector, yet while remodeling my humble home I’ve acquired pieces that I love. (last was dry sink for the mud room). Most require some work in my little shop. So it’s three-fold now: enjoy the process of looking, the repurposing/fixing, and the satisfaction of having things with history (previous owner).

Looking forward to meeting great folks in this Vintage-venture!

Welcome to the forums! Minimalism went out the window for me when I started going to estate auctions. Too much nice stuff selling cheaply to restrain myself. I've been trying to focus on collecting small/easy to store items to combat my space, clutter problem but it is not easy.

Thank you all. I'm currently redoing my home with a touch an Japanese culture in mind, so that helps to stay simple. The actual Asian touches are in the living room. All other rooms have their own thing going on. Still, trying to stay away from keeping things I don't use, or that don't bring me joy.

I seem to like things out-of-sight. Design and furniture have 'storage' in mind, so things can stay hidden. I'm currently using old hand-made tool boxes as shelves. Great storage too. My photo?.... who has time to get in front of a camera!? :)

    Thanks for the kind Welcome.
