I actually saw one of these on storage wars... I think, or one of those types of shows. I don't think they were from Huffco. A client brought this in today and I was surprised to see it. He said he was actually neighbors with Michael and Arianna when he lived in California and that Michael gave him this. He said there were only 10 created.
Only 10 made with the HUFFCO name on the side? There were probably hundreds of the same type made in Indonesia in the 60/70's for oil workers.Link to another 20+ without the logo. http://www.artsobserver.com/2012/01/21/ricco-maresca-gallery-displays-26-vintage-hard-hats/
I'd hate to have to wear that 10 hours a day. For one thing heavy, so probably a commemorative or a type of trophy you would display?
This was my hard hat when I went into the foundry to quote - the foundry workers loved it BUT the "Big Wigs" put a stop to it - Oh well, so much for caring what the actuall worker who ran the line and KNEW what they needed instead of the "Book smart" engineers just trying to keep their jobs!! I could see why the upper eschilon put a stop to it!! I now have it hanging in my wood shop!!
