I don't see stripes indicated on the cats, so wondering if they are lionesses, which do hunt as a team. Not sure tigers do. Although the elephant does look Indian, not African.

The cruel beasts have stripes. I agree tigers aren't known to hunt as a team but... Tigers these are:joyful:
The seller said it was her grandfather who passed some years in Africa, she thought it was an African bronze:facepalm::hilarious:

It's nice to find someone who'll spend more than a Euro on art ! I worked in a small gallery way back-no easy feat to make a buck.

If you can afford to keep it I would, just think the tigers lost the fight (as they would in real life) I think this is better and far less common than French animalier bronzes and the people likely to bring it home have far more money. Bronzes aren't my bag so I don't know their value ATM but I know quality when I see it, I think this is a fantastic investment, the same feeling I got when I started collecting Anglo-Indian antiques 15 years ago and if I had re-sold them then I would be out of pocket by a lot.

Stunning piece and nice job on the eye. What’s your replacement eye made of? I love Japanese bronze work. They capture motion and texture so well.

I just bought a few large Japanese bronzes. I haven’t gotten them in hand yet. One large elephant and two tall female musicians. Not in quite the same level as this one though.

Thank you! Of course if the tigers don't manage to grasp the trunk, it is unlikely they can put down the elephant... But... It is a pain for the imagination!:(
I know the market is way better now than in 2000, when I had to sell many Chinese objects, furniture and a beautiful Qing Court robe... But downsizing was mandatory then:arghh:
I could keep it, of course, but if I can get what I think, my insect jewellery collection may grow even more;)

    Thank you!
The eye is made of UV curing resin and permanent markers coloring on the back!
Will you show us your Japanese bronzes once you get them? Please!
