Has the numbers/letters JFMAMJJASOND 1234567890 on the base, but searching that gives no help, apparently lots of bulbs are marked that way.
What was this bulb used for?, and how old?, etc, I can't really find much info.
It measures approx 22" around and 16" long. 1st Pic shows it next to a standard light bulb for size comparison. Thanks for your time.:)

It has a 'Mogul' base and is probably for street lighting.

Wattever! Looks a tad fragile for a street lamp? How about the operating room?

Just an industrial/warehouse bulb from the dumpster. Not antique. No collector value.

Kind of pretty though. A glass worker would probably cut the base off and remove the innards, and then use the glass for something.

Doubt it would survive severing its base but if it could be... 'Crackle' neon could be put in it.

OUCH, "from the dumpster", that's a little extreme Terry. Sorry about the bother then! I knew it wasn't antique, just wanted to find out what it was.:depressed:

No problem. I have sold a few of them in the past. The company I work for deals in New/Used/Surplus industrial electrical equipment. They were primarily used in Flood Lights, Warehouse Lighting (Hi Bay Fixtures) and a few Street Lights

Though the Patina seems to show it has been in a socket, probably a fixture out in the weather, it does not look used at all.
You could probably sell it on Craig's.
