Can anyone help with this signature on this pottery? Piece is massive. 15" high, 12" across and quite heavy. Dated 1961 or 1967, but cannot make out the signature. I've taken several photos of the signature from different angles. Thanks!

Lucille, I just have to ask. Is that a RABBIT? In this photo, it looks like one to me:

It's just random layers... I think it looks more pronounced because the photo had the top part in the shade, but does look a bit rabbit like in the photo. Here is another view from the same angle with no shadows:

It's just massive. Was especially drawn to it because of the date of '61 or '67. Also the glaze is quite interesting. Not sure my photos captured the glaze well.

I appreciate the help with this!

Probably the way its being cradled adds to the effect, lol! :panda:

(It can be a bunny if you want it to be one!)

Try some baking soda or cornstarch rubbed into the signature to see if any letters stand out.

The best I can do is Tu Lia, Tu Lu, Tu Li to me. Didn't check those. Love it, by the way!

It always helps if you mention where the piece was found, or where you are located, especially since there are a lot of new members, and this is an international board.

Newer members, or those who don't post regularly, have no idea if this inquiry is coming from England, Australia, the U.S., or elsewhere, and although where an item is found may have nothing to do with where it was made, in the case of big, heavy, pottery, that often is not the case.
