Lovely pendant, London import marks. I really ought to know who ELd is!

Anyone got a working brain please?

It is also on this info page on Kollmar & Jourdan:

    https://nasvete.com/kollmar-jourdan-vintage-costume-jewelry/

So I imagine E ltd, who is identified as importer in the link House posted, imported a nice Pforzheim Modernist pendant by Kollmar & Jourdan. Does it have the Kollmar & Jourdan mark on the clasp? (KJ with an arrow through it)

It puts me in mind of a fat lava pottery piece; they're probably from the same era. I can see why the Bear bagged it.

The Bear loves seventies jewellery. And sixties too. Avant garde, stylish and chunky. This thing is HEAVY.

I am, again, lost in admiration at the sheer power of that which is the board's jools gestalt hive mind. Y'all have found more than I did and the conglomeration of it all is spiffy!

aj. there's no KJ mark I can find, but that link confirms it nicely, and a Pforzheim maker like K&J seems spot on, given the quality of it. Ties in with that one sis found too. And abacus, yes!

I'm thinking the JV 79 was an owner. I'm also trying to think which retailer/jeweller might have been the E.

Huge thanks and bear hugs, all!

I'd be the engraved mark was an owner too. There was a fad here in the 70s and earlier for engraving an insurance mark on the backs of your good pieces. Also your junk. Made getting it back easier if it got swiped and pawned. Allegedly.

Our 'Joolies' have encyclopedic minds (eidetic(?) memory). This board is basically 'Antique Jeopardy' for adults.

E Limited is all I've got. Just don't ask me who E was.

It's fun to use all the collective knowledge to help and it challenges our minds and it's a very fun and friendly contest with very little one-upmanship.Very positive site.

I've emailed the Assay Office, so if they give anything useful on who E Ld was, I'll post it.
