IMG_20191110_073441_907.jpg I believe is solid aluminum, from WWII Trench art. The owner was in the Battle of the Bulge. I can't figure if it is a Spitfire or a Heinkel He? And what is its purpose? A decoration? A paperweight? Any thoughts and possible value? Thanks guys!

Really cool looking piece. I have sold some trench art in the past but never seen anything as machined looking as that. Wondering if it was possibly a prototype of some sort. Looks too smooth in the pics to be trench art but very well could be. More pics would be great if possible.

Ok I thought it may be a prototype as well. The owner was an Engineer for defense contractors in the 1940-80's. BUT he was in the Battle of the Bulge as well. He was an artist as a hobby, he was very good. I was having issues uploading photos keeps giving error message too large. But I have up loaded before with no problems.

I thought this was an identification thing. I've seen a WWII picture of an intelligence officer showing a model of a specific aircraft to pilots ... just can't think where ... maybe in my Dad's album - long gone!

Yes looks like it! Now the question is...is this trench art, or a prototype?

I wouldn’t call it trench art as the average soldier couldn’t make it. Also it isn’t any recognizable military discard, a primary determinant of trench art.
