    Hi guys,

I found two interesting paintings in a charity shop. One of them is a bit naughty. They look well done, so I guess a educated artist, but I can not make out the signature. Can somebody here maybe help. Also want to know how this kind of art is called. Is it abstract?

Where do you live? It may be a local talent.

I would not assume that...but, if that is the case, so be it. If you live somewhere else, you might be able to check the art scene/museums/galleries, etc. that might display this type of art in that area. This was done 20 years ago, so it might be hard to trace to a local. The progressive art movement has many similar components to yours. Abstract, would be the term some would use. Modern art is used quite often. It has a lot of elements of modern progressive art. Perhaps, that would be how I would describe it..
If you do not see the initials MY within an oval, I can say that much. I like it.

    OR Oh My!

Yes I live in London area. I thought that it was maybe a local artist. My guesses is that the first picture gives a view towards London Tower Bridge.

Thank you for the info, this will maybe help doing more research about the works. But it will be difficult like you said.

that is also my fav. If you hang it on the wall it looks like you have created a new window view in the house.

Why? .. Because I don't care for pictures of women naked with breasts bigger than their face and their legs spread wide open ... Doesn't appeal to me at all.

nice. I'm sure by triangulation you could find out the window sill where the goldfish is. around Elephant and Castle ?
second one has a Daliesque touch to me.

Just an impression without any foundation except feeling: They both give off a Russian expressionist vibe, almost like a Marc Chagall, esp. the first one. It's not clear to me [did I read it or not?] if both paintings are by the same artist? To me they appear to be by different artists. It's also not clear to me which signature is on which painting? Both signatures remind me of a font seen in cyrillics although I can't really tell if they are in cyrillic letters. It would help to see which painting has which signature.

    Oh...OK....I can respect that.....

    but...
    in my defense ...
    it's not a picture , it's a painting...
her legs are not spread wider than any woman riding a horse...or bull....
& while her breasts are prominent , I don't find them to be rude or vulgar..
& her lady parts are no more than a suggestive dab of paint.

That said, I understand your sensibilities ! :)
( but I see so much more going on there , than just her...)

I don't. You don't have to defend yourself, you asked me why I disliked it ... and I answered. We may agree to disagree ... Joy. :)
