I inherited this dining set. My mom had received some appraisals about 30 years ago that showed it was worth about $30k. Unfortunately, I can't find the appraisals, and there is not much available online to confirm the value. It is in excellent condition and has a butterfly leaf in the middle of the table to extend it.

    1 table
    1 sideboard
    1 buffet

    6 chairs
    5 are regular chairs
    1 armed chair

Unfortunately, the value Deborah posted is realistic. Maybe even optimistic for some locations. You can see that it actually sold above estimate. Beautiful set that is just not in favor with most people right now.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I saw the one that sold for much less than I expected it would. Unfortunately, it is not worth anything close to the old appraisal. Who knows if the appraisal was legit? It might have been a deal for insurance purposes, my late mom's husband is a real sleazebag and probably had it forged for insurance.

There was a time when it was worth quite a bit more but nowhere near $30K.

Your best bet is to sell on facebook marketplace locally or Etsy/Ebay. Etsy I have found is doing a much better job selling furniture but you have to put a shipping quote which is pain and then clearly state in your description that the freight quote is just an estimate. I wouldn't bother with Chairish. I was one of their curated sellers when they first started and now they are up to 30 - 40%. You don't get paid until after the buyer has received the item and then there is a 72 hour hold period. Sometimes it takes them over a month have freight pick up then another month to deliver. We are seeing some of the younger folks started to buy this kind of furniture but they are not going to want to pay big money for it. I think it is lovely and reminds me of the pieces you could custom order from Grand Rapids.

I can't imagine what kind of coin it would take to ship this whole kit and caboodle ..
