I know this is probably a tourist carving wood face with bird (parrot) - but where from?

It's about 15" long The bird on top is carved front and back - the face is only on the front - I liked how the natural form of the wood was left intact - so I bought it for a few bucks. African? Carribean? Weighs about 16oz. Thanks for the help again :)
