The last one got solved so quickly I thought I would throw (what I consider) a curve ball out there and see what happens.

An etching of a town on river bank apparently done by a physician (judging by the signature)...every time I think I have a letter nailed down I blink and it morphs into something else IMG_E5974.JPG

I'm not even going to tell you what I think I see because I'm pretty sure it would only muddy the waters : )

    Thank you,

I'm not saying I'm right, but I'm not seeing Marko.
Both of your examples are from the same seller.

    Now I see:
    Muarky
    M?anky
    M?adly

    I agree, not likely Marko.
Suggest we let it “Marinate” awhile. :)

The seller is certainly guessing about Amsterdam. Somewhere in the Low Countries, yes, for both of them, but I don't know any part of Amsterdam that looks like that. It is a smaller town, somewhere in the Netherlands or Belgium.

The style is what we Dutch call Anton Pieck style, after a prolific 20th century Dutch painter who mostly painted charming nostalgic scenes which to us look 'archetypal' Dutch.
    These are by Pieck himself:

I like it too. It is nicely painted and looks really inviting.

    Thank you INH,

Did you use a reverse image search or just key words to find the other?

It looks like Manko to me... but I did not find that opinion useful in searching out additional info. :joyful:

Thanks for lending an eye everyone. Now at least I know it's not just me having trouble w/ the signature : )

    @jsnggltt
I would not consider any reference to Florimond Van Acker, as mentioned in Etsy ad. Yours is a lovely scene, nice Find! :)
