Featured I needed another lamp (like a hole in the head)

But it was free at the Gift House so I couldn't resist. Rewired with a new shade and I'll find someplace to put it.

 

Very pretty... would go well with the comforter and coverlet in my bedroom.

 

I have been told that just because it's free or the auctioneer was only asking for a dollar, I don't have to be the one to bring it home. Of course I pay absolutely no attention to that kind of foolish talk! It's a very pretty lamp.

!!! It is to stand on a smallish wooden table which holds Milady's books, her spectacles and a pretty cup and saucer. And the table is next to the chair with comfy down cushions, and the pale pink coverlet. A nice gray kitty cat would not go amiss. (Or, perhaps a long-haired white cat.)

Our nice, gray kitty passed on last year and we haven't decided about replacing him. The rest sounds quite nice. We have a very ugly, red, faux-suede 1980s sofa and gigantic ottoman in our living room that needs to go to the dump. I'm pushing for a squishy soft chair and matching hassock for myself since hubby has the leather couch.

If the Ottoman is old you might want to salvage the wood out of it for some other project.

It's a nice lamp. I'm also one who has a difficult time saying no to an attractive lamp, but from the number of shadeless lamps I have around here, I know that the real trick is finding good and appropriate shades.

 

Someone told me there's a website for shades. I'll be searching because I have three vintage lamps that need special shades.

Our Rexie passed last year of a blood clot from a congenital heart condition. He was only four. We aren't ready for a new kitty, yet.
