I am a new member and new to art, so I would like to ask you for some help identifying the era of the painting and the artist (if possible). I know that it is not that easy thing to do, there are various things that must be considered, but maybe some can help me with this?

It looks like this painting is on the cardboard.

Thank you so much in advance.

Agree. An example of French Realism.

The painting is unlikely to be on cardboard. Would/could you post a photograph of the back?

Looks like maybe just board, rather than cardboard. Or particleboard maybe.

    Edit: L. Minet on signature?

Not sure it matters. Not the work of a fully trained artist.

Think signature reads L Můn__ the u has a dot over it so maybe leaning to a German artist.

You don’t see several characters after the N?

None are really discernable, could be one ,two or even three letters given the space after the L Můn.
