    Hello good people,
I have a number of pieces to be ID'd and sold, from a friend's family estate. Not being a jewelie, I am at a loss on some of these. This may end up trying your patience, and I apologize in advance. But here goes Number One:
This set is made of a real shell with an iridised coating and what I assume are Italian? shell1mail.jpg shell2mail.jpg shell3mail.jpg shell7.mail.jpg lamp-worked beads. Beyond that??... Thank you!

I wonder if someone re-strung those beads with the shells.
The clasp is inexpensive mid 1900s
    The beads look much older.

Can you show a better picture of this area

Oh and is it strung on nylon cord or silk thread?

It's either silk or cotton, I'm not able to tell the difference, but definitely not plastic-ish. Looks quite amateurish, and home-made. I expect my best angle will be to sell as old Viennese (?) beads, to be re-worked? I assume that's gold leaf on there. shellmail1.jpg shellmail2.jpg shellmail3.jpg

I think that is a good back-up plan if you can't ID. Just take very good photos, put on a 10 day auction rather than fixed price.

These are unusual looking. I've been "bead obsessed" for a couple decades, don't recall seeing any like this.

    Maybe others will have thoughts.

    Yeah, not Nylon!

The beads really are pretty. The milky blue in the shells works really well with them.

I think that originally these were a single strand opera length necklace. Probably had no clasp as it wouldn't have been needed. Small bead spacers or metal caps.

I would guess age on the beads to be about 1900-1920s. Venetian glass
