Can anyone help me ID this Vintage funky (MCM 60's- 70's ?)- 11 1/4 " tall Rabbi Statue. Think it's patinated/colored steel, poss some brass/bronze. Head, hands, feet cast, rest looks like shaped & welded sheet metal. It's a fun piece (missing the Bible/Torah)- weight 2 lbs. 11 oz.
    IMHO-Nicely crafted but no masterpiece.

I agree Aquitaine-Huge help from @Roaring20s ,thank you sir. St. Mark's Church in New Canaan,CT Website features a number of these sculptures. The hyperlinks refer to these pieces as Reredos Sculptures. Here's the Google page that features some pics of these church's Reredos- these figures are frequently grouped together in a kind of screen design.
PS-Now I need to find out who the artist is-fun !

Thank Komo-I liked the piece too. I spent some time studying it closely,it wasn't expensive- but I'm at the point where I'm tired of hauling home things like this-(course if I found this for 5 or 10 Bucks ?... what the hell)-

Here's what I discovered about the artist who executed the sculptures that @Roaring20s found in St. Mark's in New Canaan,CT .

-United States Department of the Interior/National Park Service
National Register of Historic Places Registration Form-
"A major feature of the nave interior is the Reredos, or choir screen, a wood and metal screen set behind the altar... The Reredos, measuring 36 feet wide and 42 feet high, was designed and fabricated by American sculptor Clark Battle Fitz-Gerald.... The design contains approximately 184 welded
    bronze figures
that are connected by brass tubes and mounted on 37 vertical Philippine mahogany ribs and arranged in two inverted, intersecting curves that create a vertical, central almond shape."
PS-I still have to dig deeper to determine who actually fabricated this piece- and establishing a verified provenance can be tough. I'll have to write St. Mark's Church and the Estate of the Artist. You'll find his Obituary in the New York Times and several other sites.
