Identification help

    Hello All,

    I have this Asian item and I'm not sure if it's a jar, vase, or something else. Also, if anyone could help me with the Circa I would much appreciate it. Thank you

    Well since no one has commented, I'll give my 2 cents. May or may not be correct.

    Might be a tea caddy. Ginger jars are usually more squat.
    Don't think it is particularly old.

    I've never seen that done for what does look like a tea caddy.
