    Hi
    I have a very old bowl, its very heavy , very thick with a strange , never waxy texture ..
    It has no name on it , we have tried to identify but can not .. is it amber ?

    Hi, Beverley, and welcome!

    I was having a hard time seeing your photos, so I lightened and cropped them a bit. I thought I'd post them here, so others could see them better, too:

    I've never seen an amber bowl, myself, and I'm still not sure what it is I'm seeing in the pictures. Maybe someone else can do better!

    i'm not seeing amber. Amber glass or amber lucite maybe. Those swirls aren't anything natural.

    It looks like a Blenko bowl or ashtray from the 50s to me.

    Try googling Blenko Amberina free form bowl and see if you find anything.
