Identifying a piece.

    We think it's brass, and it expands to around 6 inches in diameter.

    For a purse neck closure maybe but I'm not sure if there is enough to tack fabric to. Maybe some googling will tell.

    Just noticed a purse with this type closure on the Murdoch Mysteries season 11 episode 9. I probably wouldn't have noticed it without the photo in this thread.

    I lost most of the Big Reveal in an episode of Boardwalk Empire when I spotted a familiar image on a child's grave marker.
