Identifying metal ashtray

    Hello everyone! Stumbled upon this ashtray today. Size is 19*7 cm. Any ideas? England perhaps?
    P.S. Sorry, I didn`t post it in metalware section.

    Well, I found it on Ebay sold for $20. But there is no info about its age and origin.

    Is that something written across the interior? And given the motif, I'd think more likely to be a pipe tray.

    No, it is a pattern. And yes, now that you told me, it is most likely a pipe tray.

    It appears to have a maker's mark though can't quite make it out. TL? Maybe a close up would help someone track it down.
