Im considering this teapot set but is it old enough

The lady says its vintage and stamped abs 140 on the bottom.

 

Old enough for what? To be vintage?

Yes. Im not educated enough to know if a seller is deceiving me.

 

Hard to know without seeing the mark, are they saying its sterling? If silverplate perhaps something like this? Are those dents on the teapot?

Can you ask for more pictures? I’ve circled one dent, not sure if any others.....I’d ask for pics of the marks as well....

There is a pretty, shiny silver-plated service with a tray in addition to these pieces for $10 at the resale shop near me. It has gold plated interiors. I can take pictures if you want a nice plated set.

 

It’s obviously not that old. Plus with the dent. She was selling it for $15.

 

worth $15....if u like to polish things........

 

If you want a nice, undented older set, it sounds like you might do better elsewhere.
