20191110_110019.jpg 20191110_105920.jpg 20191110_112211_resized.jpg 20191110_105932.jpg Resized_20191110_105827001.jpeg High relief decor of very naturalistic grasshopper and ant among flowers and oat grass on one side, music trophy, a ribbon engraved with the date 19 Avril 1908, a stylized diamond ring with initials B F on side, another ribbon with initials G H.

No mark at all, heavy: 84 grams!
    Mesurements:
    6.4cm or 2.5"
    5.7cm or 2.25"
    2.5cm or 1"

The clasp is unusual to me:
Click strongly and open by pushing the two "buttons" on the sides.

I supposed it was related to "Bijouterie Française" but found nothing about this peculiar date.
Then thought about an engagement gift... still a mystery!

@Hollyblue how was it made (name of the technique :))
I was thinking casted then chiseled (it is plain, not hollow) antenna is a wire.

Amazing bracelet, kyra, I have never seen anything like it in a bangle. Very nice attention to detail, with that antenna.
I googled the date, but found nothing relevant.

It's beautiful. All the symbolism. The person that owned this bracelet was well thought of and loved.

Looks like it was cast, air bubbles and gas porosity. There may be a little chasing and engraving, but it's hard to tell from the photos.

    Thank you!
Right! Can't say what is the grasshopper symbolism though:joyful:
Ring, date, oat, initials, horn of plenty, ribbons and music instruments are more clear:)
Maybe the ant is to impersonate the bride's wise sense of economy;)

Thank you, but no bubbles nor gas porosity:rolleyes: Only texture on the background, heavy patina and signs of long time wearing with tiny dings and wear.
Will try to get a super close up tomorrow with good light!
Sure it is not a bloke in his shed work;)

Thank you, the enlarged music notes is very useful to show the detailed work!

THANK YOU! I think you nailed it!:woot: High relief using lost wax technique and chiseling/engraving:happy: Have to agree too it is pretty special and pretty great:joyful:

Bugs??? What bugs???:bucktooth:;):hilarious: Thank you, Kiko:kiss:

Aww, Lucille, thanks for your kind comment!:happy:

I thought what Wiki had to say was interesting, that it is a very old tale, & not one where the moral has always been about the superiority of provident ants.
