Is Remington"s Sioux a rare copy or are there thousands of them out there?

I want to open it up again to find out by who and when it was made. But, then it would have to be resealed. I like to keep things as they are found. It has been opened before and seal with what looks like packing tape. Curiosity as to its age is burning inside me and needs to be answered, oh. that burning desire to open it up.

    Hi,
Open it up you can always reseal it. Remember the guy who bought a print in PA for four dollars and found a real copy of the Decoration of Independence worth 2.5 million dollars inside. I always open them up just to archival protection.

Greg LOL From the look of the Yellowing tape Looks like someone beat me to the Declaration of Independence by about 10 years at least. But when I have access to it again later this evening, I will take your advice because it makes a lot of sense.

    Hi,
A few of best things I found was in the back of old framed pictures was a 1935 50 dollar bill. A wonderful movie poster used as backing in a frame from 1943. A wonderful 1911 photograph of Niagara Falls in an old frame with a 1920 magazine cover of a Turner painting. It was in a shop for years until one day the dealer marked it down from 9 bucks to 3, just to move it. I sold the photograph for 35 dollars and the frame for 12 dollars.

I haven't done any research on Remingtons lately....but from what I recall, copyright on his works has expired, which means that there are a great many copies available.

Thanks all_fakes for the information. That is even more of a reason to open to determine age and who reproduced it.
