    Good evening
I have this Snuffbox/tin in my collection. I believe it to be solid silver. It depicts a lion being stumped on my an Asian Elephant. I am not sure about where it was made and when. Asiatic lions are not that wide spread anymore so it won't be a modern piece.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Did you happen to see any silver markings along any of the side edges that might have indicated purity?? I pulled out some strange lettering on the bottom....more in the left corner than anywhere & brownish....I don't think English......unreadable to me.....or anyone for that matter!!

I don't see any letters,it was sanded on a circular rotating disc.If letters were to be applied it would be after sanding the surface.
