Well, first let me say thank you again to all that have given me such good information. How good is this place to have so many people with so much knowledge that give that knowledge for free. Like being in the twilight zone. No one gives anything for free anymore unless it's trouble. So, no I don't think any of these are of any worth. Just cannot find any info so, here I am. First the divided dish with the cabin on the back. Cannot make out name. Second, the plate with B&Co. I've searched but everything takes me Limoges. No help. Third, the bowl. Anything to it? Fourth the plate with cottontails the word you can't read is Nippon. Anyway any info is certainly appreciated. dish3 (2).jpg dish1.jpg dish2.jpg bc1.jpg bc2.jpg bol1.jpg bol2.jpg bol3.jpg nip1.jpg nip2.jpg

B&Co is the mark of Benardaud & Co and they were located in the Limoges region of France, the mark is shown in Gaston's book on Limoges china as Mark 1, and dates from 1900 - 1914. B&Co sold much of their production as whitewares, aka undecorated blanks. Because they did not decorate the piece, who made the blank is less important than who decorated it.

The piece was decorated by J.H. Stouffer Company, which was in business from 1905-1952 in Chicago. Stouffer started his business on the south side around the same time as Pickard started his business on the north side. Reed's book on Pickard China includes sections on some of the decorating houses that operated at the same time as Pickard. The mark on your piece is shown in the book as Mark 4 and dates from 1906 - 1914.

The last one says Spicer Studio Akron. I'm guessing they decorated blanks from many companies, since there's a cattail plate on the worthpoint site that says it's Bavarian.

    1. Bronwen has identified it correctly.

    2. Your violets plates is a studio decorated piece on a Limoges blank. Limoges is actually a region in France know for its porcelain and B&Co. (which stands for Bernardaud & Co.) is in that area. The mark dates from 1900-1914. Stouffer was a decorating studio based in Chicago. They bought the plate undecorated from Bernardaud and hand painted the decoration at their studio. The Stouffer mark dates from 1906-1914.

    3. European but I can't comment much beyond that. It's out of my wheelhouse but I would guess Italian or other Southern European.

    4. Pretty much as you described it. Nippon hand painted plate with cattail decoration. May have been part of a larger set originally.

I think you are correct in that none of these is particularly valuable. House of Webster was a bit restricted in the patterns they produced. It has some collector value but under $15. Stouffer is also collectible but frankly that's not one of their better pieces. If the decoration was more elaborate, the painting by a known by a know Chicago china artist, and it had extensive gold trim it could be worth some bucks. As it is I'd probably put it in my Goodwill box. The bowl is really pretty neat and in the right kitchen could look really cool. It's value is primarily decorative (what someone would be willing to pay to display it in their kitchen). And finally while the Nippon plate is pretty the same rules apply to it as to the Stouffer. It's charming but just not elaborate enough to bring big bucks. Having more pieces in the pattern might help. Value around $5.

    Hope this helps.

The Nippon is only a blank mark. The decorator is Spicer.
