This is my first post. I hope I am providing info ok. I put details on the photo descriptions.
I bought this some years ago before seeing it in person and feel like it may be older than the 100 I was told. It is 44W x 42H x 22D. Smooth grain wood with much patina. Drawer bottoms are half width pieces of wood with a center strip. Bottom side is rough, maybe hand planed? Back is similar. Extreme wear to the drawer runners/bottom edges, and replacement plywood for the two small drawer bottoms and the wood top, on which the 3/4" marble slab sits. Strangely replaced drawer pulls and lock escutcheons, which are sideways so the locks can't work. Lock has flat head screws. I can provide more/better pics if helpful.

I would love any thoughts on its age, likely history...I am not expecting much value, given its wear and what little I know of the market. Thank you!

Not a lot of details to go on here style-wise. Construction details indicate mid-19th century, give or take. Need better pics to determine primary wood. Secondary wood is pine. The replaced hardware is a detriment.

Agree with Verybrad. I’d call it walnut, ca. 1870-ish. The Rococo Revival hardware is later and the attempt to blend in with the original construction date falls flat as the hardware is inappropriately fancy. The marble top is also an add-on and just looks like an attempt to tart it up.Would expect to see round wood knob pulls on the drawers and a simple wood top on the case.

Value would be minimal depending on location. I’d guess $100 or so.

The stone might have happened when an original wooden top was damaged, but alas someone messed with this early and often.
