I am particularly interested in finding out the art style of these pieces. Signature to me is unrecognizable.

I am guessing from the fade, ageing, glass colors these would have to be around the 60's? Particle board is darkened really aged it seems.

I know markers were invent in 1950, so yeah.

Looked into the sundowner thing, only reference seems to be a film from 1911.

    Cool pieces though.

I would call them mosaics. Looks like glass(?) pieces pressed into a medium.

Yes I am, thanks! Not sure how the clown comes into that storyline though. Why I am confused. Thanks though for the reply.

possibly something to do with a villain? The Sundowner painting looks more like a mischievous drifter If I had to put a word on it.

Well, I don't always expect 2 pieces of "art" to be related other than by a common signature. Given the technical details you mention and the style having been popular in the 60's timeframe I doubt that a film from 1911 would have been the source of the artist's inspiration.

I believe one mosaic has nothing to do with the other, just two different subjects, right?

Welcome Ron. A sundowner is the same as a swagman, probably a more familiar term. As a subject the clown has nothing to do with the sundowner/swagman.

I probably made that assumption as I received them together.
