or what it was supposed to be used for

    measures 3 1/2 inches

cant find one like it, said it was chinese on the tag, but unsure

Think Asian for sure. Have seen some similar from Japan but don't see why it couldn't be Chinese or elsewhere. Those bells might be the clue for pinning this down.

thanks brad, yeah i wondered that myself, they are solid little weights, as apposed to tinkling bells, cause i tried shaking the buggas

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I had thought they were seed pods on top, which might have made it an easier guess, but @verybrad noticed they were bells, so, I’m out!!:happy: (But it DOES look like it might have held spices!! ANY SMELL TO IT?)

I would guess India, maybe Burma. Maybe a pigment container?
    Could we see the inside?

Hi, no has no distinctive smell other than old wood, so don't think it was ever used for its intention

    Mmmmm old wood :)

Reckon be hard to age though

It seems like speculation, but maybe something to look into.

You never know, maybe it was underpriced by the Seller. I’d keep looking. :)
