I am trying to determine the origin of this pin. Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately there is not. Is that usually an indication that it is some sort of reproduction?

We would like to see the back anyways. Details in construction can give hints about age and origin.

I was going to say 1950s - 1960s costume jewelry, but I am not sure what is going on on the back.

Can we see a better close up picture of this?

Sorry, I'm not in possession of the pin. The owner provided the photos.

Tell the owner to take a clear pic of the back !!
I haven't ..'pinned ' it down yet.....but from the pics , it sure seems to me to be a quality item....not shabbily made...

I think you are seeing the reflection of the camera in the back of the pin. Back looks like it is polished smooth. Agree that this looks to be quality and worth testing for gold content.

Could it possibly be a watch pin, with the watch attached to the plate on back with a chain? Very nice piece; and it looks like enamel on the front, yes?

I think you nailed it. It's a reflection of the phone! We'll try to get another shot on Thanksgiving day. Thanks! :)

Oh! So much for my 'watch pin/plate' theory lol; I thought the grey area was 3-dimensional. Carry on :-D
