Inuit figural box: age, material and use?

    Basically everything, haha. The only thing I've figured out myself is the origin. I would appreciate any help with this container. It only measures 5 1/2" top to bottom. I'm guessing it's for snuff? It's wood, and I can't figure out what kind of wood it would be! I'm also trying to figure out the age of this piece.     It looks like it might be made of horn, rather than wood. What leads you to think it is Inuit? Not saying it isn't, but do you have some evidence or other insight you haven't told us?
