Featured Inuit Soapstone Sculpture

    Soapstone sculpture-7 1/2" long by 2" high,24.2 oz. weight.Canada Eskimo Art sicker and incised number 1-09357 on base. Picked up at a garage sale.

    That’s a fun one! I love how the bear is sneaking up on them. I love the bears face even more. Very charming bear. Maybe not the most refined carving but it’s got a real charming folksy type appeal imo.

    Thanks dag-It's funky but cute.Design wise maybe student/apprentice, or maybe the artist was sculpting from life and feeling a bit nervous !
