    hi folks

bought these two yesterday on a whim (£10 for 2), loved the patina on them, wouldnt have bought them overwise

dont know if they have been designed to look like this, or just natural aging

    both measure 6 1/2 inches

wondering what period they are from

    many thanks

    charlie

Charlie, No idea about the pots but let's just say "Goodbye and Hello" and don't forget that "the antique people are down in the dungeon";)

Looks to me like the colors were applied - the hint is the drips on the inside of one of the pots of the silvery color on the top. They are pretty, but I believe decorated.

thanks kiko, that could very well be true, something seems designed about them

the rainbow iridescence is only there when the sun shines on them like here which makes me think its could be a natural thing

out in the daylight they are like that all over

Flame/torch colored most likely left over from the bad brazing of the seam and no cleanup after brazing.

looks like a handhammered vessel formed in two parts and then soldered together with dovetail joints. what you see is the rest of the solder and inside the acidic rests of the soft solder flux.
a technique that was used into the 1930s and later.
