Featured Iridescent faceted beads / necklace - any age? Also where from?

Hello all - this was a combination of flashy and cheap today, so I couldn't walk out without it.

No clasp - which seems odd for a necklace this small - about 15" total length (circumference).

The beads are glass, and iridescent. I don't know much about jewelry so not sure if they're similar to an AB type bead or not. There are 4 little round spacers with rhinestones/crystals in them too. A few of the beads are either worn down or have some form of deterioration on the facets.

Will it fit over the head?
Might not be a necklace.

 

Wont fit over my huge noggin. Maybe an adolescent or child? You may very well be right though...maybe not a necklace.

 

I think they might be some sort of fancy prayer bead thingy.

Aaroncab's piece looks like some sort of Catholic devotional (perhaps "Blessed Sacrament") prayer chaplet—not enough beads to be a rosary like the one in the link (not even before the luminous mysteries were added in 2002). If it is a chaplet, there should be a religious medal at one end, though.

did you count them ? are there 99 beads ?
PS. they often exaggerate; there are no 72 virgins either.

 

What ever it is, from the beads and spacers, it is something made in the last 10 years give or take a few.

 

There are 33 beads so you'd count them three times for the 99. Looks like a Misbaha to me.

Exactly, a short misbaha or tesbih. Maybe home made, if so, they did a nice job.

Thanks for the input everyone. I think we know what they are now. I also found a site that sells almost identical strands in various colors of glass - so - I think modern too. I appreciate all the help and time spent!
