    Hi to all,
I am interested to buy this 135cm long Irish Hammer Mousquet Riffle gun.
Got it home for 2 days...Have just cleaned it with Bee wax...Looks Quite Good...
It does look Original and Vintage..?? But am not 100% sure...???
The cover trigger has been replaced with some brass feetings....The Riffle Butts has got those layers of wood added....??? Why..??
The Hammer Mechanism works 100%.....But no Marks..No Gunsmith name..Nothing....
It does look as an Home made Riffle done very basically...But I am sure it does work and still is operational...??
On the Barrel are those Brass fittings attachment which look old and patined enough...With some cross design etc...
Could you have an eye on it and give me your expertise and experience on this matter.?
I have offered the owner 150.00 Euros for it...Am I right..?? If you have any information..Actual value that you think..Please Let me know..
    Thanks a lot
    JB

I know very little about firearms. It's just that flared stock that I associate with N. Africa. Others know more than I. Hopefully they'll show up... eventually.

The stock certainly has the same shape as Berber rifles.

North African, that is to the south of us, not the east.;)
I am not the person to ask, I only recognized the style. But I am sure others will be along later.

"sniped" in this context means that someone else said what you wanted to say moments before you got the word in.

Not just used in the Fantasia (gorgeous though), and not just in Morocco. They were used in Algeria and Tunisia as well. Maybe neighbouring countries too.
