is that a mark on the bottom of this old pitcher or is that some sort of splotch?

    Lovely Staffordshire pink lustre pitcher. Not sure about the mark although perhaps it was to indicate a second or artist? Some of these hunting pitchers date back to 1820's. That mark definitely means something.

    Puce rather than pink, which might help on a search. Woods did a lot of these.
