Is this a beer stein ??

Picked this up in a sundry lot. It looks like it would be hard to drink from but might be useful to pour from. Size 27cm (10.6") High 12cm (4.7") round 17cm (6.7") wide weight 1.03Kg(2.2lbs). Can't tell its age but there's a "made in Germany sticker on it. Can someone illuminate my ignorance?

I would say pitcher and not stein.

I would have thought more mid century, but the label says Made in Germany, - not West Germany.

Made by Uebelac-Keramic west germany and given they went bust in the 90s I would assume from the style it was 70s-80s in age.
