I think this one is from the Victorian period but I can’t figure out if this gem is real or what it is. Has a very faint crack on the surface. IMG_1933.jpeg IMG_1934.jpeg

    Late nineteenth. I’d suspect citrine.

Looks like a gold setting. Probably citrine, unless it has Scottish hallmarks. They'd call it a cairngorm whether it was mined in Scotland or not. (sassenach tourists, don'tcha know.)

    Beautiful.
Another vote for citrine, and possibly a Cairngorm.

Cairngorm is the name for yellow/amber and brownish stones found in the Cairngorm Range in the Scottish Highlands. They can be either citrine or smoky quartz.
Cairngorms were also used by makers outside Scotland, for instance in Birmingham.

A beautiful name, but I always associated with sleet and snow. It is the coldest part of Scotland, forbidding but impressive.
