Is this a Maud Lewis painting?

    Found this at a yard sale Sat. Looking up Maud I came across a lot of paintings with the same look signed Maud Lewis - and some by her signed just Lewis. Did she sign any just Maud?
    If not her, any idea who the artist might be?

    From the ones where she signs Maud Lewis, she prints Maud.
    Looks a bit more Risqué than her work.
    But see what others think.

    I called ahead (so they could schedule it to have less people at one time) & wore a mask & gloves as requested (which I wear everywhere anyway - my dad is 88 & I am extra careful so I don't get it & possibly give it to him)

    No. Maud Lewis was a folk artist from rural Nova Scotia and her works tend to depict cats or farm scenes. Your painting is a Parisian scene done in the “naif” style. Look to artists like Michel Delacroix for comparisons.
