    Good day,

I’m trying to confirm that this lamp is actually a Norman Perry. The shade says it is but I’m not sure about the actual lamp. The shade material matches the material on the hand pulls that look original. The base is covered so there’s not any Information there. there’s two stickers on the lamp. One is the UL info and the other has completely faded. I’d also like to know if it’s wood (looks wood) or something else like Resin? Is there any way to test without damage?

I cannot find any information on Norman Perry. Just a couple of his lamps for sale on other pages.

    Appreciate any help.

That looks like a recent-ish Chinese import. In what part of the world did you find it and what were you told about it? And where does the shade say Norman Perry? Would/could you post a photograph?

It’s located in the USVI. I’ll post a pick of the label. It’s 35x18 and very heavy weighs 19.4lbs. I wasn’t told anything about it. It belonged to a lady on island who passed. Her daughter is going through her items and preparing to sell the house.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Hello, @DiverAbroad -- I think it is a replacement shade, due to the fact that the shade is too short to cover the tops of the pulls that turn on the bulbs. Also, it looks a little out of proportion. And (to me, at least) doesn't look like the right style for the rest of the lamp.

About Norman Perry Lamp Co., I found two obituaries for people who died in Plymouth, New Hampshire, USA. Each had worked for that company in an earlier part of their lives. One person lived 1929-2020 and the other lived 1937-2014. Assuming they were each at least 20 years old when they started working there, you could say that the company was in existence in the 1950s-1960s in Plymouth, NH. It doesn't come up now in general searches. Old newspaper advertisements would give more information, but would be a longer search.

I can't tell how old the lamp is, but the label on the light socket that you posted looks relatively modern. I see the numbers 02/03 in the upper corner of that label, which might be a date... of when the socket fixture was made, not necessarily the lamp.

I just don't see old here. I see recent and China.

100% concur with Debora's opinion on this. Limited value.

The shade by itself might have some value.
