Featured Is this another cookie mold or is it to put an imprint on the top of the butter?

    This piece is 4 1/2" across & is 3" to the top of the handle. I see them ID'd as both on-line, but was hoping someone could give me a definite ID one way or the other & possibly help me out on the age of this piece. :happy::happy::happy:

    4 1/2 inches seems too big for a cookie. I'd go with butter on this one.

    Shortbread? The wheat sheaf indicates a 'wheaty' purpose, I think.

    I've ALWAYS known them to be Butter Molds, but I suppose if you have a fresh batch of cookies you want to "impress", then........why not.....no law against it!!! Mid 1800's......they've been around a looong time.....
