Is it a cup or a shaving mug?

I know sevres had cameo painted pictures like this on cups but yes I think it is a cup maybe for coffee?

It is not a cup; it is a mug (coffee or not.)

I don't think it's Sevres. It lacks the quality, the finesse.

(And, for what it's worth, I've seen straight sided cups like this called 'cans'.)

A quick internet image search of "Sevres" and "cameo" will bring up examples which you can compare your mug against. The quality difference is quite distinctive.

If she is not a raised design, I would not call it a cameo. Portrait, Grecian, maybe?

It looks like German origin. I based this on colors, shape of handle, and lack of markings on the bottom.

The word "cameo" is used to describe the Sèvre ware.

Far too small for a mug, it's a coffee can. And anyhow, we only call them mugs if they're big coarse sort of things.

Might be British, Beardmore did a lot of this stuff. Mid 19th or so.

    I would say definitely not.

I've seen many pieces much more intricate and well-made that still weren't listed as genuine Sevres. Sevres has been copied so much throughout the centuries that most things with Sevres marks are fake.
