    The first part looks like Japanese sterling marks on this mixed metal lighter? The first part of them mark looks like marks shown on the .925 site, the second part does not. Thanks for the input. Tara

    The first character is the Chinese one used for silver. It's also used by Japanese and Koreans. The second mark isn't the sterling one though. It might be the Japanese version of EPNS.

    That is what I was thinking, so I went to translation site and typed in silver plate and it isn't a match

    銀鍍金 [ぎんめっき] {noun}
    silver-plating {noun}

    The third character is actually looks like a partial mark for gold.

    黄金 [おうごん] {noun} (also: 金)
    gold {noun}

    Mid 20th century Nunome Zogan (Japanese damascene), the inlays on the patinated steel would be genuine silver and gold.

    Absolutely japanese. In japanese style and japanese mark "Silver".
    Even though the words reads as traditional Chinese. but the lighter itself is japanese.
