Is This Mineral Sample Turquoise in Matrix?

    I perhaps should have posted this in the Jewelry forum, but wasn't sure...
    It IS old, so technically an Antique!

    It's ~4" by ~2 1/2" by ~1 1/2", an' weighs ~10 1/2 oz.

    If it is as I suspect, does its appearance indicate with any accuracy what region or mine it came from? Can anyone ID the matrix mineral?

    Looks *possibly* like turquoise to me. Cool rock!!
    Could also be chrysocholla, a similar looking blue stone occurring in matrix.

    Sure looks like it. As Stracci said it could be another of the chrysocollas out to fool us.

    Agree with both of the foregoing. Colors typical. Have never seen the brown stone identified, not sure it matters, but:

    Could be either of the two mentioned, but could also be amazonite.
