    Question from another forum as to where this piece was made and what type of metal.

    Sri Lanka, and it is a real beauty. I have never seen these in any other metal than silver or gold, so I'd say silver. Sri Lanka is rich in minerals and has a very long history of silver and gold mining.

    Sri Lankan jewellery components are generally more intricate than Indian, although Southern India is already leaning towards the Sri Lankan detailing.

    You're welcome.
    You can also tell them that Sri Lankan jewellery is much more rare than Indian, so it is a pretty special piece.
