Is this sailboat painting a copy of something famous?

    Or just the Victorian equivalent of sofa art? It has a very old repair dead center, but fortunately it's in the sky and not the foreground. The frame is probably early 50s. There's a number on the back, 140, instead of a name. [​IMG] [​IMG]

    They look like mid-east boats to me, maybe North Africa.

    The motif is common enough. I don't think it specifically copies another work.

    It appears to be lateen rigged fishing boats, South of France.

    The lateen sales I figured. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything that would have the Ebay Police breathing down my neck if I listed it.
