Is this satsuma or new?

    Hey antiquers! Hope y’all are well! I found these two in my auntie’s house. She said they are satsuma but i think they’re not. What do y’all think about? There is no mark under or above.

    IMO Chinese "satsuma" - Newish.

    Thank you guys! I win the bet haha! Auntie confessed that she bought these two from chinese store 20 years ago and like for 50 bucks :happy::happy:

    That's not moriage, that's enamel beading.

    Can we have a closer picture of the faces please.

    I would call this Satsuma Style.
    Appears newer, decorative value only.

    We have a Gondola with these type of Beads all over of different colours and sizes. Thought they were "Moriage" but someone says, "Not so." Either way, ours is mainly yellow base, plus Oriental themes and we love it at our shop. Should post maybe and get informed.

    Moriage is clay slip usually applied in lines with some beading. Enamel beading is just that.

    Should add that enamel is not slip which is clay.
