Is this used wood "reel" to spool wool or fabric?

    I really have no idea what this thing is. It looks a little like old devices to reel yarn or other types of thread. The inlaid wood design on the handle is also a bit of a mystery. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Yes, I did just find something similar described as a kite winder but another as being for wool. I am leaning toward kite winder now.

    The emblem makes me think maybe Asian silk? But just a shot in the dark.

    I just found a sight on Korean kites and kite flying and there are some very similar ones on there. They emblem does look like it could be Korean. Seems kit flying is very popular there.

    Yes there are some Japanese silk reels that have that look but are much more elaborate with wooden gears. Thanks for the help everyone
