I bought 2 of these the other day, only marked made in Italy on bases . The wood is gold gilt and looks like some type of resin or something hand carved on lathe or by hand. Not sure what this material is and what era, maybe 1940's 50's ?

    Any idea on these ?

    Thank You

    Hi Billy,
Probably alabaster. Saw a lot like this in the 1980s in Brooklyn. Wood looks like compressed sawdust.

Alabaster for sure, given they're Italian.
