    Hello,
I would like to find some news about the italian XVIth century labour tables, or writing desks, for money change or lenders or bankers: in my opinion, this kind of tables should have one or more low and narrow drawers, useful to put inside well ordered the coins.
Please, if you have some pictures or link at museum or auctions pages about this matter, send me.
Thanks a lot for your help and best regards,
    Luciano

Hello Davey, thank you for your reply: I already did searches of this kind but I have not found good results yet. By the way, in your search I see, above all, tables in the Louis XVIth style while I need pictures of XVIth century tables for money lenders or bankers, where I suppose there shoud be small drawers (low and narrow) to put well ordered coins inside. A good result for me would be also a painting with a table with this kind of drawers. Mine is a search for specific study purpose. Thank you anyway

Thank you, this could be a good result but I mean more a real table with four legs and also one or more little drawer for coins and only for coins: the ones you propose have large drawers, useful to contain many kind of objects....

Hello Luciano. I live in the Netherlands and we often see "pay tables" from Piemonte and Val d'Aosta overhere. They have an Alpine influence, with an A-shaped frame.
This is the type, not as old as your timeframe, but is this the general style you mean?

Thank you, yes, forgetting the central drawer, I suppose that the ones at the extreme left and right could be little drawers useful for coins. If it is so, I am looking for this kind of tables... In the XVIth century, a similar kind of "pay table" should have been made also in Rome and in the central area of Italy...

So we are looking for info on XVIth century proper tables with a row of narrow drawers under the leaf.
I have seen those overhere. It is possible they were XVIIth century, but I can't find any now.

Just to confirm that this should be a XVIth century table, not XVIIth...

Yes, I understand.:) But those are difficult to find online at the moment, which is why I posted a later one which could be closer to the model you mean. So we get an idea what we should look for.

Thank you, something of this kind but I mean above all for the little drawer. The leg could be less similar or different...
