Any hints on how to tell is this is a good quality or not?

Please study the various kinds of Chinese "jades" that aren't really jade at all, at least not nephrite or jadeite. Like :"Dushan Jade."

 

True. I have a necklace and similar bracelet like this that belonged to my daughter in the 80s. Def. not valuable.

 

How about this one? To me, something does not seem quite right with those cracks inside.

 

Perhaps item isn't all its cracked up to be?

 

They could be from a Chinese basket - they normally didn't use very high grade stone for those rings and your third image (I think) shows mill marks (parallel to the width).

It's not the hardest stone, but I think better quality wouldn't be soft enough to show scratches - it should be glassy...

I'm thinking this because I spent a whole day trying to make a piece of imperial glass into a white jade bracelet! They're pretty and interesting, regardless.
