This is a bit cheeky so feel free to tell me I am out of line if need be!
This graduated bead Jade necklace is coming up at a local auction house. This is the only photo at the moment and I haven't seen it in person but I thought I'd ask the collective wise ones if it's worth going to look at and worth a punt for the right price?
Jade seems to come in so many colours and some seems worth peanuts and some a lot more.
Are there any pointers to look out for or is it a beginners minefield?.
The other one is apparently glass.
I know it's a big ask from one poor photo but if it's not good enough I won't go and look in person!
    Many thanks :)

The daker green one with flecked "potatoes" beads is obviously old deco glass, flapper length. Those are collectable!

The other one is genuine jadeite jade, not of high quality (uneven color, not translucent) but old with wear to the polish, and an old gold spring clasp.
Don't know what prices are in your area at local auction houses... For 30$ it would be a reasonable first jade buy;)
If 2 are sold as a lot, 50?
A good bath and a polish with neutral bee wax and it will shine again:)

Sorry, I should have put that in. Starting bid is £25 (c$32)and estimate £40-£60 ($52-$78) for both.

In £ that estimate seems little high to me but if it is hammered at 50£ you 'll have to add the buyer's premium, and I don't know if you could make a little profit... If it is for keeping, go for it;)

USPS First Class to France is cheaper, or even Priority Mail (about $36), and both are cheaper than Express. USPS Express Mail rates are very high. $64.50 retail at the counter. If they used eBay shipping for their label they may have gotten a small discount, but not much. https://postcalc.usps.com/Calculato...&dmil=False&mdt=5/1/2019&mdz=9:29&m=20&dvi=58

Some folks call the flecked beads "dragon's egg" glass. I've seen similar in stone and called "jade" but I has me doubts as the saying goes. The jade in the first photo isn't much of a muchness; it's opaque and off color.

I think I will give them a miss. Although I’m not buying to resell I don’t want to fall out of love with it and decide to sell to find it isn’t good enough to bother. I’ll save up for better ones!. Thanks for your help. I now know a little more about Jade than I did!

They are generally called Czech Peking glass beads. I recently bought one with bigger beads alternating with those small beads for £15.:)
